Last week I was with my family up at Red Pine Camp – taking some time off of work and focusing on spending time with my family and my extended friends at our annual week at camp. One of the veteran campers Barry Bickerton came across some cyclists looking at a map not far from the camp and found out that they were not out for just a day trip. Nope they were riding across Canada raising awareness and funds for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Barry offered the weary travelers to come and enjoy a lunch on him at Camp and to introduce them to us all.
These were not your average fund raisers – nope two recent high school grads – sisters none the less that are on a mission to fight for something that they care deeply for. One thing to keep in mind here by the time they got to Golden Lake Ontario they had traveled approximately 4,866 km:

And what is it that made them do it - well in their own words:
“We are doing this trip for two reasons, one is to show youth that you can do anything you set your mind to. The other is to try to raise as much as possible for the BC Children’s Hospital, so that they can help give kids the specialized care and treatment that they need. ”

Cassidy and Brittany Helps, (fitting last name), are a true inspiration and are an example of just how there are so many individuals in this world that are taking action and making a difference. I encourage everyone to visit their website - www.cyclinghelpskids.ca and take stock of what courage and determination can accomplish. And perhaps you may want to help them in their efforts to raise money for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Cheers - Eric

That is impressive, especially as they’ve been going for nearly 4 months!
